Report
Arta (anc. Ambracia), Mitropolitou Porphyriou Street (Trobouki property). P. Gouni (ΙΒ' ΕΠΚΑ) reports the discovery of four large paving slabs in secondary use, set around a floor of beaten earth, stone and sherds (Fig. 1: 283). To the east, a room was badly disturbed by a post-Byzantine well and a Byzantine double pottery kiln. A wall at the south edge of the plot continued below it, and building material was scattered over the entire excavation area. Byzantine and post-Byzantine pottery predominated: the earlier structures are hard to date for want of pottery (a few Classical-Hellenistic and a very few Archaic sherds were recovered).
