Description
Megara, 48–50, 52, 127–104, 95–119 Sithnidoi Street (O.T. 207–228). Andromachi Katopodi (Γ’ ΕΠΚΑ) reports on discoveries made during a major project for the environmental upgrade of Megara city, undertaken 2006–2009.
Seven settlement walls were located here, and a well. All walls consisted of medium and large sized stones, irregularly shaped. The well’s opening had a diameter of 0.3m, from which large quantities of pottery were recovered. In particular, there was a large geometric krater, with images of birds and geometric patterns. It is possible that there was a burial in this area, which was later incorporated into the walls of the city.
