Description
Potami Amariou. K. Giapitsoglou (28th ΕΒΑ) reports the discovery of a possibly third- or fourth-century AD bath complex north of the church of Agios Giorgios. The church itself has three phases: an initial phase in the late 12th century to which the large figures of saints belong, a 14th- to 15th-century phase during which the dome was repaired and re-frescoed, and a phase in the 17th century when the west and part of the south wall were repaired and the roof was rebuilt. It is also reported that the church of Agia Kyriaki was founded on Roman buildings, part of which were found to the south (they contained four lekanes embedded in the floor).
