Mountros - Plakakouria. Niki Tsatsaki (Ephorate of Antiquities of Rethymno) reports on the discovery of new archaeological sites in west Rethymno (Fig. 1,2).
Remains of a building were found in two adjacent plots at this site. Carvings in rocks found here are similar in their building technique to houses of the Hellenistic period found elsewhere. A few markings on the rocks appear to be early Byzantine, but other remains from the site are Hellenistic to Roman.
