Solomos area, construction part K88, Ancient Corinth. Konstantinos Kissas (LZ’ EPKA) reports on the rescue excavations taking place in the area ranging between Agioi Theodoroi, Corinth and Megalopoli, due to the constructions of a gas pipe. During the process of forming a trench for the placement of the gas pipe, one kilometre S of Solomos village, the excavations revealed hydraulic and workshop remains, ranging between Hellenistic and Early Byzantine times. Specifically:

1. An eight and a half metres long stone pipe (N-S) was located (Fig. 1), integrated within the natural rock. On top of the stone plinth construction covering the pipe, excavations revealed a well, one stone paved construction and one Π shaped construction, all dating in Early Byzantine times. One layer, consisting of a large quantity of Hellenistic times pottery was considered a terminus post quem for the dating of the stone pipe. The modern pipe passed on top of the ancient one (20 centimetres higher), and the antiquities were buried for protection.
2. Twenty metres NW of the pipe, part of a workshop construction was located. It had a linos (grape presser), an ypolinos (construction underneath the grape presser, where the liquid was collected), one tank, one wall and flooring (Fig. 2). A small quantity of pottery dates the assemblage of spaces to the Hellenistic times.
