Description
Aigion, 2 Anagenniseos Street (property of K. Diamanti). Andreas Vordos (ΣΤ’ ΕΠΚΑ) reports on two poorly preserved cist graves.
Grave I was aligned on a N-S axis and was 2.34 m. long by 0.99 m. wide. It was made of sandstone, with a covering of four slabs and probably belonged to a woman. It was richly furnished including pottery, gold jewellery, a gold coin (danaki) and iron nails. The surrounding soil also included large quantities of gold fibres.
Grave II was also aligned on a N-S axis and was 1.92 m. long by 0.62 m. wide. Two unpainted amphorae were found within.
