Ampheia. Leonidas Souchleris (ΛΘ’ ΕΠΚΑ) reports on work undertaken on Gardiki-Kokkala/Oria Hill, where the fortified settlement of Ampheia was located. The fortifications were located on the south-western side of the hill, which is also the most accessible. They were aligned on an E-W orientation and had preserved dimensions of 21 m. long by 1.80-1.90 m. wide and 2.20 m. high. In the middle of the wall was a tower (2.5x3.0 m.), while on the eastern slopes of the hill was a road cut into the bedrock in which wheel ruts were visible. The road passed through a gate in a wall which crossed at right angles.
