Report
Phyle. Alonistra Site. M. Platonos (Β’ ΕΠΚΑ) notes the excavation of a rectangular structure of rough stones and a pit- deposit to the east of it on a rocky outcrop on the right of the road to Phyli, near to the old cemetery of the demos. Pottery from the area was utilitarian - amphorae, lekanes, phialae, kyathoi - including some black-glaze. To the west of the structure the ancient road to Acharnai and Athens ran southeast-northwest: the structure is thus probably a guard post for the road (Figs 1,2).
The pit-deposit contained plentiful prehistoric-Roman sherds.
