Salamis - 2008

Salamis, Intersection of Dios Street and M. Alexandros Street. Triadafyllia Kattoula (ΚΣΤ’ ΕΠΚΑ) reports on discoveries made during the construction of the city’s new sewer network.

At this site a cist grave was found, dating to the Geometric period, and oriented NW-SE. The grave was covered by three large stones. A skeleton was discovered inside facing W, with head to the S. On the north side of the grave there was a trefoil oinochoe and also a skyphos dating to the Mid Geometric period. Bronze fragments were also found here.
