Description
Monemvasia, Naos Agias Annas or Agion Akindynon. Panagiota Skagkou (5th EBA) reports on excavations undertaken within the church. These located the arch of the southern aisle and part of the southern lateral wall of the church. The arch was founded on bedrock and was preserved to a height of 0.50 m. Its interior width was smaller than its counterpart from the northern aisle and its floor had been destroyed, underneath which was a poros chambered room. The southern wall of the church was poorly preserved, while the main floor had been destroyed by a rubble-built construction in the northern aisle, after the church had gone out of use. The excavations produced post-Byzantine and recent pottery.
