KERATEA - VIOPA - 2009

Keratea, VIOPA Kerateas (O.T. 1029, property of XILA LOGISTICS). Panagiota Michailidi (B’ ΕΠΚΑ) reports on the discovery of 4^th-3^rd c. B.C. storeroom or stable. A building measuring 14x9.5 m. and consisting of 3 rooms was excavated (Fig. 1). Rooms 2 and 3 had rubble walls and appear to have had stone-paved floors. A corridor ran between these rooms. A fourth, circular space was also excavated. Finally, two walls were found, one of which appears to have been a retaining wall. Small finds include Late Classical coarse ware sherds and black-glazed sherds.
