Description
Keratea, Small Business Park (VIOPA). Eleni Andrikou (B’ ΕΠΚΑ) reports on continuing excavations at VIOPA. More Late Helladic remains were revealed. Specifically, a large wall made of stone boulders and a smaller wall were found (Fig. 1). Additionally, several rock-cut pits were excavated, and a Psi-shaped figurine and a jug were found in one of these (Fig. 2). Two Mycenaean, animal figurines were also found in that area. Two oval-shaped buildings were dug north of the pits. Their floors were stone-paved and would have accommodated storage vessels. Lastly, a road with one retaining wall was found (Fig. 3). Apart from the Mycenaean remains, few early Helladic remains were also revealed. These include 8 rock-cut pits, parts of huts and 2 more pits.
