NIKOLEIKA - 2006

Nikoleika (property of A. Komninou and P. Karachaliou).E.-I. Kolia (Στ’ ΕΠΚΑ) reports the discovery of 12 Roman tombs (two tile graves plus ten cists with tile covers, terracotta tiled floors, and walls of brick, unworked stone and cement). Nine were oriented east-west (head to the west) and three north-south. Most contained no goods and some had been looted. Tomb 1 contained a gold ring with three green stones in the bezel, and tomb 7 a bronze bracelet and a necklace of glass beads. The tombs were laid out on either side of a large wall running northwest-southeast, which had two faces of unworked and partially worked stones and a fill of pebbles, gravel and tile.
