MOCHLOS - 2003

Mochlos. Ch. Sophianou (ΚΔ’ ΕΠΚΑ) reports that excavation at Madara (property of P. Richter) revealed a three-roomed building built of unworked stone. Undecorated Minoan pottery was recovered together with pumice.

In the Late Minoan III cemetery, a circular rock-cut tomb (oriented east-west) contained a pithos burial a bronze ring and a necklace of faience and cornelian. Next to the pithos were further grave goods, namely whole pots (prochoi and stirrup jars including some miniatures).
