Property of M. Dianelou (O.T. 624), Kanoni, Corfu. Katerina Kanta-Kitsou and Georgia Kouskourida (H’ ΕΠΚΑ) report on excavations conducted at this property.
After removing a destruction layer, a NE-SW oriented wall was discovered (Fig. 2), in the foundations of which was a Doric column made of porphyry. The foundations of a rectangular building were also discovered, measuring 11.60 x 6.60m (Fig. 3). Part of the floor in the NE of this building was preserved, consisting large ceramic slabs joined with plaster. Various other walls were also found within the area of the building.
Many fragments of amphora toes from the sixth through third centuries BC were found, as well as painted sherds of the archaic period, fragments of black-painted vessels, kalathisoi, aryballoi, oinochoai, part of a bone buckle, black-figure amphorae (Fig. 5 and 6), figurines, lamps, tiles, and bronze coins of the Hellenistic period.
