Description
Patras, 160 Germanou Street (property of Athanasopoulou). Lambrini Papakosta (ΣΤ’ ΕΠΚΑ) reports on the discovery of architectural remains belonging into three different building phases (Figs. 1, 2). Phase Α’ included the remains of a building of unidentified character (Fig. 3). Towards the south, it faced a paved road and had an open drain for the collection of rain water which was aligned on a N-S axis. An older phase of the pavement was identified as Β’, while phase Γ’ included the remains of a public building which faced east and in which two construction phases were identified (Figs. 4, 5). The finds included loom-weights, a lamp and pottery sherds. Phases A’ and B’ are dated to the Ottoman period, with Γ’ to the Roman-Hellenistic.
