Description
Megara, 43–45 Christos Moraitos Street (O.T. 155–6). Andromachi Katopodi (Γ’ ΕΠΚΑ) reports on discoveries made during a major project for the environmental upgrade of Megara city, undertaken 2006–2009.
A total of 13 walls were found, thought to relate to domestic structures. Much of the fill excavated here contained sherds of the Hellenistic, Roman, and post-Roman periods. Fragments of lamps were found, along with amphoras, glass fragments, pieces of bronze, and bronze coins. It is thought that the walls here relate to at least two construction phases, the first of which was in the Late Hellenistic period, and the second in the Early Byzantine period.
