Salamis - 2008

Salamis, 37 Metaksa Street. Triadafyllia Kattoula (ΚΣΤ’ ΕΠΚΑ) reports on discoveries made during the construction of the city’s new sewer network.

At this site three burials were discovered.

Grave 1: cist grave, EW oriented. A skeleton was found inside measuring 1.10m.

Grave 2: Found 0.60m S of Grave 1 and in parallel orientation. A late Geometric period amphora was found, with decoration of a dancing woman. No bones were found.

Grave 3: Only a portion of a cover slab was found, and the rest of the grave was not excavated.
