Salamis - 2008
Salamina, Salamis
Salamis, Ypsilantos Street. Triadafyllia Kattoula (ΚΣΤ’ ΕΠΚΑ) reports on discoveries made during the construction of the city’s new sewer network.
At this site two Geometric period burials were found, spaced 1.80m apart. Grave 1 was 2.24 x 0.70m, with a skeleton in supine position oriented with head to E. Grave goods included an iron spear tip, a trefoil oinochoe, and two painted skyphoi. Grave 2 was 2.20 x 0.73m and found with two bronze forks. The grave goods date these burials to the Middle Geometric period.
