Megara, Armakades district, Aristeidos Street. O.T. 399, property of A. and E. Panou. Panagiota Avgerinou (Γ ΕΠΚΑ) reports on the discovery of 11 graves of the second half of the 6th and first half of the 5th century BC.
Grave 1: sarcophagus, oriented EW, with dimensions 2 x 0.60 x 0.60m. Two skeletons in supine extended position with heads to E.
Grave 2: sarcophagus, oriented EW, with dimensions 2.035 x 0.52 x 0.60m. Two skeletons in supine extended position with heads to the E and arms parallel to torso. Red-figure lekythos with image of a woman in front of a basket, black-painted lekythos with spherical body, and lekythos with olive branch decoration. Late Archaic to Early Classical.
Grave 3: sarcophagus, oriented EW, with dimensions 1.86 x 0.61 x 0.58m. Three skeletons in supine extended position with head to E and arms parallel to torso. Black-painted lekythos, fragment of bronze buckle and iron needled. Late Archaic to Early Classical.
Grave 4: sarcophagus, oriented EW, with dimensions 1.845 x 0.60 x 0.53m. Two skeletons in supine extended position with head to E and arms parallel to torso. Whtie-painted lekythos, two Corinthian kotyles with linear decoration, part of the stem of two bronze buckles. Late Archaic to Early Classical.
Grave 5: sarcophagus, oriented EW, with dimensions 1.865 x 0.56 x 0.56m. Skeleton in supine position with head to E; right hand bent towards the elbow with palm side to chest, and left palm facing abdomen. Painted kylix. Late Archaic to Early Classical.
Grave 6: sarcophagus covered with slab, oriented EW, with dimensions 1.09 x 0.44 x 0.45m. Skeletons in supine position with head to E. Three Corinthian kotylai and two black-figure lekythoi. Late Archaic to Early Classical.
Grave 7: infant burial in a bath, covered with a stone slab, oriented EW, with dimensions 0.70 x 0.38 x 0.39m. Skeleton in supine position, with head to E. Corinthian kotyle with linear decoration. Late Archaic to Early Classical.
Grave 8: sarcophagus, oriented EW, with dimensions 1.98 x 0.53 x 0.61m. Three skeletons found in supine position with heads to E. Corinthian amphoriskos and a Corinthian kotyle. Late Archaic to Early Classical.
Grave 9: sarcophagus, oriented EW, with dimensions 1.51 x 0.47 x 0.50m. Skeletons in supine position with heads to E. Faience seal with image of a cat. Late Archaic to Early Classical.
Grave 10: sarcophagus, oriented EW, with dimensions 0.92 x 0.37 x 0.32m. Two infant skeletons in supine position. Pair of bronze earrings. Late Archaic to Early Classical.
Grave 11: sarcophagus, oriented EW, with dimensions 1.78 x 0.50 x 0.70m. Seven skeletons found in supine position with heads to E. Three black-figure lekythoi, one Corinthian kotyle, one Corinthian phiale, and one iron nail. Late Archaic to Early Classical.
