Palleni, Kentro, Tannes, Leontariou 58 (O.T. 82, property of “I. Kontos – A. Mastrokostas and Co.”). Dimitrios Christodoulou (B’ ΕΠΚΑ) reports on the discovery of a Late Roman cemetery (Fig 1).

Burial I was a cist grave containing a skeleton, 2 intact oinochoe, an intact open vessel, a bronze coin and an iron spoon (Fig. 2).

Burial II was a cist grave containing a skeleton, a bronze, octagonal coin, a bronze ring, an iron fibula, and a skyphos, which contained 2 oinochoe and a glass vessel (Fig. 3).

Burial III was a tile grave (Fig. 4).

Burial IV was a cist grave containing a bronze, hexagonal coin. A terracotta lekanis had been placed next to the grave for burial offerings (Fig. 5).

Burial V was a tile grave containing a child burial and a bronze coin (Fig. 6).

Burial VI was a tile grave containing two child burials. The head of one of the children had been placed on the thorax of the second. The arms of the second had been placed in an embracing position around the head of the first. An open vessel was found at the north end of the grave for the placement of burial offerings (Fig. 7).

Burial VII was a tile grave containing a child burial (Fig. 8).

Burial VIII was a small cist grave containing 8 bronze coins and a bronze fibula (Fig. 9).

Burial IX was a cist grave. A lekanis was found at its east side for the placement of burial offerings (Fig. 10).

Burial X was a tile grave containing a child burial (Fig. 11).

Burial XI was a cist grave containing a skeleton in supine position, a bronze coin which was found in the area of the cranium, half a lamp and fragments from another 8 lamps, and a glass lekythos (Fig 12).

Finally, four boulders placed in a row were excavated (Fig. 13).
