PIRAEUS - 58 Mpotsari St. - 2009

Piraeus, 58 Mpotsari St. (property of I., G. and E. Galaiou). K. Axioti (ΚΣΤ’ ΕΠΚΑ) reports on the discovery of an early 3^rd c. B.C. building with an irregular architectural plan which does not conform to the Hippodamian grid plan (Fig 1). The building consists of two rows of adjoining room and a hallway which run alongside its west part. Two of these rooms form the façade of the building. The smaller of these is interpreted as a workshop, since it accommodated three tubs and a drain. Only traces of the floors of the rooms survive.
