Description
Trapezos Ovryas (property of K. and A. Kanellopoulou). L. Papacosta (Στ’ ΕΠΚΑ) reports the discovery of architectural remains over the entire area of the plot. In the northwest lay a workshop complex (40 x 16m) with at least nine rooms and three kilns. The northernmost kiln is round (diameter 1.4m), with the stomion to the east. To the south was a square kiln (wall length 2.98m), stomion to the east, with the vault collapsed: the walls of the firing chamber survive to a height of 1.1m, with four column supports for the eschara along each – to the west they extend to form a passage. The southernmost kiln, also round (diameter 3m) survives to a height of 1.3m with a support for the eschara in the middle of the chamber. Immediately to the east of the third kiln, a floor with terracotta tiles (2 x 2m) may belong to a cistern. Adjunct rooms to the west and east extend to the edges of the plot. Further walls, tombs and pools lie close to the surface in the east and southeast of the plot, with find including stone blocks, a millstone, a column base and a capital.
To the east, on the neighbouring property (of A. Konstantakopoulou), a structure (above ground) and a dense sherd scatter indicate the presence of a larger archaeological site.
