STYLIA - 2005

Stylia. Ph. Saranti (ΛΣτ’ ΕΠΚΑ) reports that in preparation for the opening of a road, inspection was made of the sites of Marmara or Mnimata southwest of the village, where a largely looted cist grave cemetery is had previously been reported. The associated settlement seems to have extended over the sites of Lakkes and Koromilia slightly further east. Scattered pottery was observed on the surface along with many traces of ancient walls and ancient building material re-used in modern buildings and enclosures. A peribolos wall built of large blocks was noted at Lakkes.
