AIGION - 18 Asimaki Photila Street - 2001

Aigion, 18 Asimaki Photila Street (Theodorakopoulou property). E.-I. Kolia (Στ’ ΕΠΚΑ) reports the discovery of Roman settlement remains (poorly preserved sections of wall) close to the surface, plus a well containing a large quantity of Roman pottery, both sherds and whole vessels (plates, prochoi, cups and cooking vessels). To the north of this, between two walls, was a plaster floor on which lay Hellenistic pottery. Further north, smaller walls ran perpendicular to the north wall bordering the floor: these showed successive Hellenistic and Roman building phases, with pottery of both periods represented (Hellenistic being more plentiful).
