Patras. Nikolaos Vasilakis (Ephorate of Antiquities of Achaia) reports the following:

An array of post-byzantine ceramics were discovered during rescue excavations at Patras and dating from the end of the 17th to the mid-19th centuries: storage and transportation vessels, tableware, and lamps. Excavations also provided evidence for pottery workshops in the Upper City (Ano Poli) of Patras and probably also the wider area, which produced both coarse wares for domestic use, usually with incised decoration, and glazed wares. At the same time, luxurious glazed vases were imported in large quantities from the West to cover the needs of the rising middle and upper classes. Glazed wares were also imported from Asia Minor, though in smaller quantities, indicating that they were less popular among the people of Patras.
