Rethymnon, Rethimnon
Rethymno - Church of Ayia Paraskevi. Konstantinos Yiapitsoglou (28th EBA) reports on excavations conducted prior to the restoration of a building on Nikiforou Foka street. Two areas were investigated, the N of which contained remains of a Venetian church, mentioned in early seventeenth century AD sources and dating to the late fourteenth / early fifteenth century. During the Ottoman period, the church had been converted into a production site, with kilns placed in the middle of the church. In the nineteenth century, the space was used as a warehouse.
