Patras - Patron-Pyrgou Street / Ahaikis Sympoliteias Street - 2011

Junction of 52, Patron-Pyrgou Str. and Ahaikis Sympoliteias Str., (Block 83, private property of K. Kampouri), Patras. Vasiliki Tsaknaki (ΣΤ’ ΕΠΚΑ) reports on the rescue excavation in the aforementioned plot, after an earthquake destroyed the modern construction. Part of an ancient building was revealed after the removal of the destruction layer.

This building was equipped with a fireplace (hestia) and its walls were dated in the Middle Hellenistic times. A built well was located in the NW corner of the plot, the insides of which were lined with clay rings. Finally, two pottery kilns were located, both dated in the Hellenistic times.
