Agios Antonios Area, Kisamos. Maria Skordou (ΚΕ’ ΕΠΚΑ) reports on works undertaken during part of a project to install new sewage pipes in Kisamos. Antiquities were discovered on the E entrance of the town, near and E of the bridge over the river Kamarian, at the intersection of the National Road and the road lead to Agios Antonios.
A trench was opened 0.75 x 11m, yielding Roman period remains. A wall came to light in NW direction, delimiting a room to its W. 1.30m from the wall, remains of a circular stone structure were found.
At a distance 0.40m away, a second construction was found, with a base made of burnt clay. Traces of this installation can be seen 3.6m along from its point of origin. A lot of unpainted Roman pottery was found from this area.
