Kurimbei, Corinth - Tripoli - Kalamata Highway, Lektro - Sparta section - 2014

Kurimbei, Corinth - Tripoli - Kalamata Highway, Lektro - Sparta section. Evangelia Pantou, Evangelia P. Eleutheriou and Maria Florou (5η EBA) report on discoveries made during the construction of the new motorway.
At this site (Χ.Θ. 32+500), a small bath came to light. Specifically, a rectangular building of dimensions 8.50 x 5.20m was found (Fig. 1). It was sub-divided into two spaces. Both of these rooms had sub-floor heating systems. The walls were thick, made of brick and mudstone, and covered with plaster. The area to the S and W form a corridor and a courtyard area, presumably a waiting area for bathers. 
It is possible that the bath was associated with a farmhouse located in the nearby area. It is dated between the third and sixth centuries AD.
Some pottery was found during excavation, mainly unpainted sherds and coarsewares, also a bone tool and two bronze coins (Justinian I, and Justin II dated no later than 565-578 AD).
