En 1996, un site néolithique (phases Sitagroi I et II) a été repéré au cours d'une prospection au lieu-dit Piséika, une éminence allongée qui se dresse à 800 m au Nord du village. De la région d'Haghia Marina, à 1,5 km au Nord du village, provient par ailleurs une statue fragmentaire réutilisée comme stèle funéraire.
