Report
Corinth – Tripoli – Kalamata highway, Antheia. Demosthenes Kosmopoulos and Maria-Triadafullia Valaka (ΛΗ’ ΕΠΚΑ) report on discoveries made during the construction of the new highway.
In this area, part of an agricultural facility was revealed, dating to the Hellenistic period. It is another part to a farmhouse discovered in 2010. The structure is rectangular with smaller rooms inside. The walls had been disrupted by water pipes built in the 1970s.
A large number of unpainted sherds were found in this area, as well as eleven loom weights, nine bronze coins and eight metal objects.
10m to the NW, a rectangular stone tank was also investigated, measuring 3.40 x 3.10m, with a height 0.41 x 0.94m. The inside of the tank was covered in mortar, and the structure dates to the Byzantine period.
