Report
Kyra. Mairi Giamalidi (ΚΣΤ’ ΕΠΚΑ) reports on a series of investigations made across the island during the development of a new hotel complex. Known sites were reidentified (including the foundations of a large public building, the remains of a Byzantine church, and two possible chamber tombs), while new sites were also identified. Based on the architecture and on the ceramics, it is thought that there was occupation here from prehistoric through classical times. There was also extensive agricultural activity throughout the landscape until the end of the 20th century.
