Report
Vrachnaiika and Tsoulalaiika settlements. Sewage pipes. Vasileios Argyropoulos (ΣΤ’ΕΠΚΑ) reports on the discovery of eight 19th century underground sewage pipes. They were of two types, arched and built. The arched pipes were made of bricks and mortar (Fig. 1). On the top of the arched cover was a small hole sealed with stones which provided access to the interior for cleaning, while the base was made of irregular limestone slabs. The built pipes had been constructed with roughly made stones and limestone mortar and were preserved to a height of 0.75 m. The side walls were built using limestone slabs.
