Report
Kato Achaia, Kolosara, O.T. 150 (properties of P. Michalopoulou and G. Athanasopoulou). Adamantia Vasilogamvrou and Vasiliki Tsaknaki (ΣΤ’ ΕΠΚΑ) report on excavation finds from two adjacent plots. In the first, the eastern segment of the Hellenistic fortification wall of ancient Dyme was located. Aligned on a N-S axis and founded on the hard clay bedrock of the area, the upper wall consisted of unfired clay bricks covered by clay tiles. The western and southern sides of the walls were supported by retaining walls made of sandstone blocks (Fig 1). In the northern part of the property was found the surface of a narrow road of 1 m. in width, consisting of beaten earth, small pebbles and a few pottery sherds. Investigations in the second property revealed large quantities of bricks and a sewage pipe aligned on a N/NW-S/SE axis.
