Report
Kaminia-Alissos, railway line Patras-Pyrgos. Georgia Alexopoulou (ΣΤ’ ΕΠΚΑ) reports on the discovery of building remains belonging to a Roman farmstead, including the walls of approximately 16 rooms dated to the Hellenistic to Late Roman periods, the majority during the Imperial years (Fig. 1). The walls were badly preserved, with floors of beaten earth and pebbles and in most cases the rooms were filled with destruction debris. The presence of in situ pithoi points to use of some of the rooms for storage (Fig. 2). Finds included black-glazed pottery, terra sigillata, amphorae, skyphoi, bowls and lekanides, along with loom-weights, coins, iron and bronze nails and animal bones.
