Report
Vrachnaiika, Retounioti, Afon Andrianopoulon Street (properties of M. Apostolaki and G. Konstantara, properties I and II). Vasiliki Tsaknaki (ΣΤ’ ΕΠΚΑ) reports on the excavation of two private properties in which parts of a Roman villa were discovered (Fig. 1,2), similar to previous finds in adjacent properties. Property I produced five rooms with walls built using the opus reticulatum system, of which two were decorated with mosaic floors. The surface of a road of 5 m. in width was also discovered. In property II there were walls, a Roman pit, a pipe constructed with Laconian tiles and the chamber of a kiln (2.20×1.40 m.). A cluster of tile covered graves aligned on an E-W axis and lacking grave goods was excavated in the north-western part of the property.
