Report
Vrachnaiika, property of M. Theodoropoulou. Vasiliki Tsaknaki (ΣΤ’ ΕΠΚΑ) reports on the discovery of a tile-covered grave which continues into an adjacent property (Fig. 1). Its maximum visible length and width were 1.3 m. and 0.4-0.5 m. respectively and it was aligned on a NE-SW axis. The body was placed directly on the soil and only few bones of the skull were preserved. The Laconian style covering tiles were dated to the Roman period. Close to the burial were four parallel fired bricks as well as a partially preserved kiln on which the covering plaster had vitrified due to the intense heat.
