Report
Mantineia, Aitofolia Kapsia phylakeio. Stamatis Fritzilas (ΛΘ’ ΕΠΚΑ) reports on the discovery of a guard tower on top of Aitofolia Hill, to the north of the village of Kapsia (Fig. 1). Built directly on the bedrock of roughly worked local stone without mortar, the tower was square (4.8 m.) while due to the irregular level of the ground its north-eastern side had more blocks than the south. No pottery was found and the tower was interpreted as part of the fortifications of ancient Mantineia.
