Report
Megara, Intersection of Sokratis Street and Omiros Street (O.T. 114, property of G. Karvela). Panagiota Avgerinou (Γ’ ΕΠΚΑ) reports on the discovery of a well and two buildings.
The cistern was located to the N of the plot. It is dated typologically to the third century BC.
The first building measures 2.65 x 2.53m, whose walls were constructed from both uncut stones and reused architectural members. A few skyphoi and lamps were found during the excavation, along with bronze fragments, bone forks, stone tools, and the marble statue of a male nude figure. The area is dated between the third and first centuries BC.
