Trapeza Aigiou - 2010
Koumaris
Trapeza Aigiou, location of Mycenaean cemetery. Andreas G Bordas (ΣΤ ΕΠΚΑ) reports on excavations in the SW slope of the plateau. In the early 1930s a cluster of Mycenaean graves was investigated. Nothing is now visible in the spot. After a short survey, 2 different geological layers were identified. A stratigraphic trench confirmed the use of space during the Mycenaean period. It yielded a few sherds, but no graves.
Of special interest are some sherds of hand-made pottery that perhaps belong to cooking vessels that can be identified as Handmade Burnished Ware of the late Bronze Age.
