Vrachnaiika - 2010
Vrachnaiika
Peirou-Parapeirou Dam, Vrachnaiika. Vasileos Argyropoulos (ΣΤ ΕΠΚΑ) reports on the discovery of part of a large Roman building of the 2nd-3rd c. AD at the junction of the old national road between Patras and Pyrgos and Ioannis Vagenas St. Three building phases were distinguished (Fig. 1). A few metres to the W (junction of old national road 266 with Odos D. Theotokopoulou), a small square cistern was found (Fig. 2). The internal walls were plastered and the floor made of clay slabs. The cistern probably belonged to a farmstead. A few metres to the E (old national road 254) of the Roman building the remains of a small kiln were found.
