Dans la ville antique de Démétrias, P. Triantaphyllopoulou (XIIIe éphorie des antiquités préhistoriques et classiques) a mené en 2008 une fouille de sauvetage sur le terrain Makropoulou, situé rue Palatiou, où on a dégagé une tombe à ciste et des vestiges de construction de l’époque classique.
