Report
Nea Makri, Poseidonos and Eleutheriou Venizelou (property of Sp. Diamesi). Pelli Fotiadi (B’ ΕΠΚΑ) reports on the discovery of Neolithic huts. An extensive Neolithic and EH settlement has been previously found in this area and these huts are part of it (Theocharis 1954, 1956; Pandelidou-Gofa 1991, 1995, 1996, 1997). The stone foundations of three huts and one house were revealed (Figs. 1, 2, 3). The house had a carefully constructed stone floor. Postholes were found on the exterior and interior of the huts. In addition two pyres were excavated. Finds from the area include pottery sherds, obsidian tools, stone tools, bone tools, animal and fish bones, and seashells.
G.I Nikolobieni conducted the excavation under the supervision of the author of this report. E. Mpanou oversees this area and granted the author the rights for its publication. The excavated pottery is conserved by Chr. Kavaleka.
