Report
Melissia, Sokratous and Aristeidou Streets (works for natural gas pipes). Dimitrios Palaiologos (B’ ΕΠΚΑ) reports on the discovery of 6 walls, 2 of which were delimiting a room (Fig 1). These are dated to the Late Roman period from the pottery sherds found in their vicinity. A deposit pit, contemporary with the walls, was also excavated. It contained fragments from roof tiles and pottery sherds. Finally, two 4th c. B.C. deposit pits and a well contemporary to them were excavated. The deposit pits contained roof tiles, amphorae sherds, undecorated and black-glazed pottery sherds, and a terracotta loom weight. The excavation was conducted by Eu. Tyrovoli under the supervision of the author.
