Report
Marousi, Aghios Thomas, Athleton and Byzantiou (O.T. 781, property of I. Verentzioti). Dimitrios Palaiologos (B’ ΕΠΚΑ) reports of the discovery of a 4th c. B.C. road running in a N-S direction. The road was 3-3.50 m. wide and had a retaining wall on its western side. Two construction phases are discernible. Finds from the road include tiles, undecorated and black-glazed sherds (4th c. B.C.), and a fragment from a horse figurine which most likely comes from the lid of a Late Geometric pyxis. Finds from the area include tiles, pottery sherds, a fragment from a black-glazed phiale, a red-glazed dish, and Late Byzantine undecorated and glazed pottery sherds. The excavation was conducted by Eu. Tyrovoli under the supervision of the author of this report.
