KIFISSIA - 2008

Kifissia, Anoixeos 6 (between Char. Trikoupi and Pyrrou). Athena Hatzidimitriou (B’ ΕΠΚΑ) reports on the discovery of 3 cremations in pointed jars. The first jar contained bones, 2 bronze foils and seven black-figure vessels. The latter include a trefoil-lipped oinochoe showing Hermes offering a flower to a woman (Fig. 1) and a lekythos showing two seated figures with another two, younger men standing next to them (Fig. 2). All the finds date to the early 5^th c. B.C.

The second jar contained 4 black-figure vessels (2 lekythoi, a cylix and a squat lekythos) and a figurine of a seated woman. These finds too date to the 5^th c. B.C.
