Report
Ilion, Aghios Fanourios, Aiolou Street (DEH roadworks). Antonia Gialleli (B’ ΕΠΚΑ) reports on the discovery of a Roman building complex (Fig 1). Three rooms were identified. The first measured 4.60x0.80 metres and was delimited by Walls 1 and 2 (Figs. 2, 3, 4). The second room was over 3 metres long and contained a cistern (Fig. 5,6). 3 worked blocks were excavated west of the cistern (Fig. 7). Small finds include roof and floor tiles, undecorated pottery sherds, fragments from a pithos and an amphora, and few black-glazed sherds. I. Speliotakopoulou conducted the excavation and K. Deli produced the drawings.
