Dans la commune d’Atalanti, G. Pallis et A. Yphanti (24e éphorie des antiquités byzantines) ont mené en 2006 une fouille de sauvetage sur le terrain Sarakioti, situé rue Varonou Velliou, et a mis au jour un silo maçonné et des vestiges d’un bâtiment de l’époque protobyzantine, constitué de quatre murs.
