Athens, Koukaki, Markou Mpotsari and 1 Mousson Streets. N. Sakka (Γ’ ΕΠΚΑ) reports on the discovery of Classical burials. In total 6 fifth-century B.C. graves were excavated: 3 teracotta larnakes (one of which contained a child burial) and 3 pit graves. The following votive offerings were found: a black-glazed squat lekythos, five lekythoi, a black-glazed olpe, a bird figurine and 2 female figurines. The figurines had been placed inside the terracotta larnax with the child burial. Finally, four rock-cut pits were found which may have served as burial pits.
Excavation was carried out by T. Michalakopoulou and S. Katsaounou.
